Starter fertilizer should be used at time of seeding or sodding then again after 4-5 weeks. Starter fertilizer contains high amounts of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. Each nutrient plays an important role with your lawn. Nitrogen will bring the greenup and growth. Phosphorus helps with root growth. Potassium gives your turf energy and strengths the cell walls in the turf.
